DIRECTIONS ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME FOR PARKING, WALKING, CHANGING TRAINS, ETC! The festival starts at 10 am. Arrive early and enjoy it before we play.
Via Metrorail: Exit Braddock Road Metro Station (Blue Line/Yellow Line). Board the FREE Old Town Trolley going to and from the corner of Bellefonte/Mt. Vernon Avenue and the Braddock Road Metro Station. Look for the sign that says “Ride Me to Art on the Avenue.”
Or you can walk — it is a 15 minute walk to the Festival from the Metro stop. Exit the station and turn right onto Braddock Road. Follow Braddock Road under the underpass to the next light and turn right onto Mt. Vernon Avenue.
Driving directions: From the Capital Beltway, Take Exit 43, follow signs for Geo Washington Memorial Pkwy/Washington. Continue on Geo Washington Pkwy for about 10 miles. Take the exit toward I-395 N/Lyndon B. Johnson/Memorial Grove/Pentagon. Keep right, following signs for I-395 S. Continue onto S Washington Blvd. Use the 2nd from the left lane to take the I-395 S ramp to Richmond/S Arlington Ridge Road. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Arlington Ridge Rd S. Turn right onto S Arlington Ridge Rd. Continue onto Mt Vernon Ave. Look for the SunTrust Bank, 2609 Mt Vernon Ave, Alexandria, VA 22301 on your left. Consider carpooling.
Directions from Art on the Avenue web site
Allow plenty of time! Transportation, whether by car or by metro, is likely to be a challenge. This is an outdoor concert on an uncovered stage, so it could be cancelled if the weather is bad. If necessary, the client will make a decision in consultation with the musical director for each band. Assume we will play unless you hear otherwise.
A public address system will be available. A drum kit will be available on stage. Arlington Concert Band will supply other percussion equipment (we should confirm they will bring what we need).
