The Rockville Brass Band is dedicated to preserving the tradition of the British brass band. It was founded in 1975, and over the years has provided musical entertainment for audiences throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
Currently, the band membership is comprised of approximately thirty professional and dedicated amateur musicians from Rockville, Maryland and surrounding communities. It is led by Band Director Dennis Taylor.
The band provides a series of concerts throughout the year at various locations in Rockville and nearby towns. It performs a wide range of music, including military marches, orchestral transcriptions, jazz, blues, and contemporary concert and brass band pieces. Recent selections have included pieces by Duke Ellington, J.S. Bach, and John Phillip Sousa.
